I'm so excited about my 1st. coupon haul today!!!! I got the dog & cat food at Target, I paid $5.75!!! Heck Yea! Also at Target I got the 4 dinners for .79 cents each, the Bic highlighters were .59 & the pens were FREE! The Dawn soap I got at Walgreens .69 cents each. Not to shabby for my first run through with coupons. I can see how this all gets addicting! I feel a bit crazy now looking up deals, I just have to remember to only buy what we use not just pickup things because they are a huge savings.....
Until Next Time - God Bless!!

Couponing & Estroven
Hey All
I started my couponing journey!
I am reading two great books on the topic:
Extreme Couponing by Joni Meyer-Crothers
Pick Another Checkout Lane, Honey by Joanie Demer Heather Wheler
I am really enjoying both books! I am just starting to understand what I have been doing wrong all these years while shopping - You never just go to the store and just buy when you need an items, Your paying too much doing that. You need to wait till the items you want go on sale and then "stacking" both store coupons and manufacture coupons together for that item you get it at rock bottom prices! Of course how do you go from grab and go shopping to having enough on hand to be able to wait out until the next sale is the issue. These gals all stock up big when they find a sale, they buy enough to hold them off for about 6 to 10 weeks until that item comes back on sale so that they never pay full price for anything. Sounds really good but I am trying to wrap my mind around it all and implement their tips & ideas to get it up an running a my house. At this point I don't have a dime extra to be buying in large numbers but I am hoping once I get the method down pat I will be able to save some of my grocery money and put it towards stocking up. I cut out a number of coupons and went to Target yesterday and saved $32.00, That's a good start!
One of the items I did buy yesterday was Estroven - Mood & Memory, my doctor had recommended it to me the last time I was in there for yet another urinary tract infections. She said that Estroven may help with it by increasing lubrication down in the old women parts. I read the box and it said you need to take one pill each day with food for a minimum of 60 days, so I'm guessing I wont see any changes till the product has gotten into my system for awhile. If you might want to also try this product you can go to their website and get a $3.00 off coupon. Target had it for sale at $9.39 I had my $3.00 coupon, so I paid $6.39 for it. I'll keep you up to date on how this product is working out for me.

BeingThrifty Using Coupons
Have you all used coupons?
I know I'm late to the party on this one, but that's me always the one lagging behind everyone else!
Really have you had success with them? I have reserved a few books on the subject at the library which I hope to pick up tomorrow. The internet is filled with tons of sites which I was surfing today and you know what I screwed up my computer downloading something I shouldn't have - maybe I picked up a virus I don't know. Any how, I am worried I will buy a ton of stuff I don't need going this route. I signed up for the free 4 week trial over at Grocery Game, they do all of the searching for you and tell you just where to find the correct coupons to use. I bought the newspaper on Sunday to start my coupon collection but it boggles my mind how you can "stack" coupons to come out with something free. I REALLY need to lower our food bill, we are really struggling with our bills so I figured why not give coupons a try. I will update you on what I find out and how it works out for me.

A Work In Progress
Isn't it funny to think at 51 I still feel like I am a "Work In Progress"!
I have an inner craziness going on that I really just can't explain.
Today's issue on my mind is: Thinning hair!
I have always had a lot of hair, I wouldn't say thick, but full would be a better word. I am now seeing that it looks like the hair at my temples is getting really thin and receding. I am not sure if this is from being over worked (I have used my hair dryer & curling wand more than ever these past few months), or is it another sign of the dreaded "menopause" or maybe it is just that I am getting OLD.
What ever the cause, I don't like it!
My hair has never been one of my better qualities, but since moving down to Florida it has gotten even worse. It goes without saying that the Florida sunshine can reek havoc on hair and my hair is no exception. I like to sit out in the sun and read a book towards late morning to get my daily dose of vitamin D (I know I hear you screaming at me - That's no good for your skin, just makes more wrinkles!) and all that sun must damage & dry the heck out of my hair. I have also been trying different brands of shampoos & conditioners (I haven't found any to be exceptional yet) which may also be some of the cause of my hair loss since I seem to be washing my hair way too many times each week.
A few of the books I have read said that possible options are to take the women's equivalent of Viagra (I don't think my hair loss is at that point yet), they also suggested shampoos that add volume - I might try that and get back to you. I'm not sure if maybe a shampoo that takes care of dryness might not be the answer also since the hair looks sooooo parched!
If anyone out there has had experience with this problem, I'd love to hear what you have done to either help the hair grow back or at least stop the hair loss.
