I want to mention a thrifting nugget I NEED to share with you!!
If you find something at a thrift/resale/consignment shop that makes your blood pressure rise a bit or if you move with lightning speed to get to that item - BUY IT!
I have had at least two instances of late where I did NOT buy the item in question and I have kicked myself in the butt ever since!! On Wed. of this week I found these fantastic gold shoes that were AWESOME, I grabbed them so quickly off the shelf I was crazed over them. I held them in my hands and admired them lovingly. I turned them over and to my amazement they were a size 7 1/2 just my size. It was etched in the stars that these shoes were coming home with mama! On a side note I decided to try them on, they were flopping off of my foot (they were a cute as could be high heel pump with no straps). Hmmmm, I thought why Donna they don't fit very well maybe you shouldn't buy them..... HELLO, What the heck was I thinking!! I put the shoes back on the rack and left the store. I happened to stop at another store on the way home and found a kick ass dress - color you ask? Black & Gold! Yes, that's right gold. I went home and dreamed about how fantastic those shoes were going to look with that dress.... the thrift store where said shoes were located was closed Thurs. so Fri. I was the FIRST person in the thrift store when they opened and the shoes were GONE! I know this is overacting, but I felt like I wanted to cry! I pulled myself out of the store and hung my head all the way back to my car, yelling at myself for how stupid I was not spending the dam $5.00 for the shoes when I saw them! My thought at the time was when the heck would I wear GOLD shoes, and in the back of my mind I figured who else would be using GOLD shoes at this time of year either so if need be they would be there when I thought it over a bit..... big MISTAKE! This is just one example of how if you don't go for it NOW, it probably won't be there when you go back so PLEASE learn from my mistakes and BUY IT when you see that honey of an item that makes your heart sing - at thrift store prices it's not worth passing it over and having a heart break over it later.....
Until Next Time - God Bless!!

Loving My New Mascara : )
I wanted to share with you a GREAT mascara I have found!
It is called: CoverGirl Bombshell Volume by Lashblast
It is called: CoverGirl Bombshell Volume by Lashblast
I LOVE it! Now that I have gotten older my eyelashes are not as thick as they once were, this mascara seems to make my lashes pop. It takes a little getting used to having the two sided process but the results are worth it I think. It has a lot of staying power too, it doesn't rub off at all - which does cause a bit of a problem when trying to take it off at night but heck I would rather have something that actually stays on all day and keeps my lashes looking long and lush!
I bought mine at Target for $8.99 - It is a bit more than I usually spend on mascara but I think it is worth it.
If you are using it or try it let me know what you think of it.
Until Next Time - God Bless!!
My Excercise Bike
Here is my new exercise bike I bought it for $20.00 off of craigslist. I tell you it is a beast!
I can only do about 10 minutes on it. I honestly jump for joy when my time is up : (
I am trying to work out on it every night. I sooooo need to work my legs! I have a lot of cellulite on the back of my upper legs that I need to try and tone up some how. My body weight has been staying around the 128lbs area, but I constantly need to keep an eye on what I am eating because lately I have a major craving for Weight Watcher candy ice cream bars ($3.99 at Target)! I have a real problem with eating too many of them, I can't eat just one - I demolish the box. When I go to the store I tell my self I am not buy any more but they seem to just jump into the cart : (

Nifty & Thrifty At 50 "And Going To Be A Grandma!"
Wow! I sure have had a lot of changes during this year that I turned 50!
The biggest by far is that my son & his wife are going to have a baby!!!!
My daughter-in-law has had terrible morning sickness pretty much anytime she tried to eat anything she throws it up..... she threw up so much she had a lung collapse! The doctors said the lung collapsing was called "Pneumothorax". The poor girl was in such terrible pain, they put a chest tube in and drained the fluid. The doctor was very up front about the possibility of losing the baby during all of this, they were most worried about doing x-rays & of course the morphine they were giving her for the pain. She was in the hospital for 5 days, she is home now and I am happy to say so far both her and the baby are doing okay : )
I pray all goes well from here on out with her pregnancy!

What Do You Think Of Leather?
My makeup try is from another great book I am reading "How To Look Expensive" by Andrea Pomerantz Lustig. She suggested buying coconut milk and putting it in the fridge and using it as a moisturizer. I bought Goya brand coconut milk for $1.74 at Target kept in the fridge overnight and sure enough it solidified and is very creamy. I tried it this morning taking just a little and putting all over my face and neck - It was a little tingly when I applied it so I was a bit nervous, but so far so good. I'll keep you updated as to how it works out - Wouldn't it be great to find a moisturizer that actually worked for $1.74!
Until Next Time God Bless!!
